TRIBUTE TO JACQUES BREL IN THE CINEMA
FOR THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS PASSING
For the first time, these two mythical concerts by Jacques Brel will be screened in a restored version. A tribute intended for all his fans, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the artist’s passing.
Concert 1 – Brel in Knokke-Le-Zoute
During the concert at the Knokke casino on 23 July 1963, Brel performed Madeleine for the first time as part of a set list of thirteen songs, including: Bruxelles, Rosa, La Fanette, Les Fenêtres, Quand on n’a que l’amour, Mathilde, Les Vieux, Le Plat Pays, Le Moribond and Les Bigotes.
Concert 2 – Farewell to the Olympia
In 1966, Jacques Brel bid farewell to the Olympia stage in a final recital that would remain forever engraved in the history of the famous venue. There is a very strong emotional dimension to this concert as it was Brel’s last tour. Songs: Le Cheval, Fils de …, La Chanson de Jacky, Le Gaz, Les Vieux, Les Bigotes, Mon Enfance, Mathilde, Ces Gens-là, Amsterdam, Les Bonbons 67, Jef, Au Suivant, Le Plat Pays and Madeleine.
